The Role

The State Operations Manager – WA is responsible for the safe, profitable, and efficient performance of all Western Australian operations. This senior leadership role provides end-to-end leadership and oversight across people, safety, financial performance, and operational execution, driving a high-performance culture and continuous improvement in alignment with Polyaire’s strategic objectives, values, and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for end-to-end branch operational performance across WA, including warehousing, job-lot picking, dispatch, and deliveries.
  • Provide strong, values-based leadership to Branch Managers and operational teams.
  • Accountable for talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability uplift across WA operations.
  • Ensure effective performance management practices.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention.
  • Accountable for the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of WHS systems, processes, and controls across WA operations.
  • Lead a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, role modelling, and accountability at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all WHS, legislative, regulatory, and Polyaire governance requirements.
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safe, efficient and consistent execution of picking, packing and delivery.
  • Monitor and improve key service outcomes including turnaround times, DIFOT (delivery performance), and order accuracy.
  • Own inventory performance to meet demand while optimising working capital (stock availability, stock turns, and excess/obsolete stock control).
  • Accountable for stock integrity and loss prevention, including reduction of shrinkage, damage, and stock discrepancies.
  • Manage state operational budgets and control costs & identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency initiatives.
  • Accountable for WA operational P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting accuracy, margin optimisation, and cost control.
  • Ensure a strong customer-focused operating culture, delivering consistent service and product availability.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with national and support functions to align state operations with broader business initiatives and standards.
  • Represent WA operations professionally and consistently within the broader Polyaire network.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated senior operational leadership experience within a multi-site, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop leaders, with experience building high-performing, accountable management teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with end-to-end P&L accountability experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS obligations, risk management, and safety leadership within operational environments.
  • Experience managing inventory, logistics, and supply chain performance to optimise service and cost outcomes.
  • Ability to analyse operational and financial data and translate insights into effective decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management capability, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (Desirable).
  • Formal WHS qualification or demonstrated senior WHS leadership experience (Desirable).
  • Leadership or people management qualifications (Desirable).
  • Experience within manufacturing, HVAC, building products, or industrial distribution environments (Desirable).
  • Willingness to travel intrastate & a valid Driver's Licence
